【摘要】:Insolublematerialmayforminoilsthataresubjectedtooxidizingconditions.Significantformationofoilinsolublesormetalcorrosionproducts,orboth,duringthistestmayindicatethattheoilwillforminsolublesorcorrodemetals,orboth,duringfieldservice.However,nocorrelationwithfieldservicehasbeenestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoversandisusedtoevaluatethetendencyofinhibitedmineraloilbasedsteamturbinelubricantsandmineraloilbasedanti-wearhydraulicoilstocorrodecoppercatalystmetalandtoformsludgeduringoxidationinthepresenceofoxygen,water,andcopperandironmetalsatanelevatedtemperature.Thetestmethodisalsousedfortestingcirculatingoilshavingaspecificgravitylessthanthatofwaterandcontainingrustandoxidationinhibitors.Note18212;Duringroundrobintestingcopperandironintheoil,waterandsludgephasesweremeasured.However,thevaluesforthetotalironwerefoundtobesolow(thatis,below0.8mg),thatstatisticalanalysiswasinappropriate.Theresultsofthecooperativetestprogramareavailable(seeSection17).1.2ThistestmethodisamodificationofTestMethodD943wheretheoxidationstabilityofthesamekindsofoilsisdeterminedbyfollowingtheacidnumberofoil.Thenumberoftesthoursrequiredfortheoiltoreachanacidnumberof2.0mgKOH/gistheoxidationlifetime.1.3ProcedureAofthistestmethodrequiresthedeterminationandreportoftheweightofthesludgeandthetotalamountofcopperintheoil,water,andsludgephases.ProcedureBrequiresthesludgedeterminationonly.Theacidnumberdeterminationisoptionalforbothprocedures.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5WARNINGMercuryhasbeendesignatedbymanyregulatoryagenciesasahazardousmaterialthatcancausecentralnervoussystem,kidneyandliverdamage.Mercury,oritsvapor,maybehazardoustohealthandcorrosivetomaterials.Cautionshouldbetakenwhenhandlingmercuryandmercurycontainingproducts.SeetheapplicableproductMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)fordetailsandEPAx2019;swebsitehttp://www.epa.gov/mercury/faq.htmforadditionalinformation.Usersshouldbeawarethatsellingmercuryand/ormercurycontainingproductsintoyourstateorcountrymaybeprohibitedbylaw.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,seeSection7andX1.1.5.
